(no subject)

I couldn't figure out how to stop the invites from coming. Even my sister, who's much more tech savvy than me, couldn't figure it out. I don't even know how I got subscribed to this. Is there a way to unsubscribe?

To say the least! Have you figured out why you're here yet?

...oh, mate. We've got a lot to teach you, lad.

Ah... Had any strange dreams? Odd occurrences? Besides getting the email for here?

That's because they aren't dreams, lad.

Exactly. This isn't the first time you and I have crossed paths before, you know.

Well, not everyone, but I got around a bit more than most. I am, after all, the god of nomads, anog other things. Apollo, at your service. And, if you need proof, I glow during the day, can turn into a wolf, and am the proud father of immortal twins.

Don't believe me, eh? All right. As you like.

[switches to a video feed--the golden corona is plainly visible around him]
As you can see, the glowing is quite real. And... [he looks off camera] Julian! Laurel! At least one of you come over here! [A muffled reply can be heard in a child's voice]

The thing about the wolf, though... Clothes don't survive the transformation. I'm not sure you're quite ready to see me naked again just yet.

I don't think. I know. I'd know you anywhere. You're Adonis, love. The one and only.

[Soon a small boy enters the picture--the family resemblance is unmistakable, and they are clearly father and son. The child carries a small golden bow and a quiver of arrows, and he is the one who speaks next.]

Hi, Mister. I'm Julian. My sister Laurel is playing with her dolls. My mommy is Melpomene. And we all live here: me and Laurel and Mommy and Daddy and Aunt Erato and Baby Alex. Alex was borned on the same day as me and Laurel and the other kids, in December, but he's still a baby 'cause he has a mortal daddy.
[Julian is using his targeted-speech, the words ringing with childlike truth and innocence, but they cut straight to the heart and there's no lie in his words]

[Apollo sends Julian back to his playing, but he's clearly laughing]

Me? Settled down? Believe me, mate, it was hard enough convincing Mel to have the twins in the first place. I think she might actually try to kill me if I put a ring on her. No, no. Just because I've got kids doesn't mean I'm stuck playing house forever. In fact, every now and again Mel chases me out of the house so I'm out of her hair, so to speak, or she hops off to go and see one of her other lovers just as I do. Not much has changed from back in the day, really.

Anytime you want, love. Just say the word.

All right, then. South America on Tuesday it'll be.
