Okay, this e-mail is just incorrigible, and I guess trying this out is better than smashing my computer, right? I mean, I need to do business on it, and I can't afford a new one.

So hi, my name is Josephine -- I'm more comfortable with Seph, though -- from South San Francisco. From skimming the board and the names straight out of antiquity and everything, I'm guessing this is a past lives discussion group? While I do have some memories of four past lives, one of them pretty far back, I really don't remember them clearly enough to add much to the discussion. I'm trying to figure if my mom or my ex let something slip to someone who signed me up for this, because I don't talk about it all that much.

Before we get too deeply into the details... Do you mind if I ask how much you know about yourself and these memories. As in, do you remember your former name or position?

Your name is better known than mine, to be honest, Lady Persephone.

If we're going for the truth, I'm Asclepius, son of Apollo, prince of Thessaly, student of Chiron and best know for healing the sick. I was a bit too good at my job for Hades' liking. At one point, I was even able to cure death. Too bad that part didn't carry over, but I still enjoy the work.

Not at all. It's been my chosen profession for all these years, and I'm good at what I do. I enjoy helping people. It's one of the reasons I took the job at the teaching hospital. I could have been a surgeon anywhere, but being able to research medicines and teach new physicians... It's quite rewarding, really.

I admit, I miss having the Gorgon blood, but it's nice to have so many possibilities to work with. Depending on the case, I do sometimes still recommend homeopathic, holistic and ancient remedies to my patients, if they respond better to them than to modern treatment options. Not all of my fellows agree with me, but their opinions don't concern me. The well-being of my patients does.

Well, it certainly seems to be working. Though, I have to admit, it was hard to keep a straight face when I took my Hippocratic Oath.

Oh, he did, trust me. He was there when I took it--he and I were reunited as lads at Oxford. The only way he could have been laughing harder would have been if he'd actually stayed in medical school and taken it himself. He dropped out after a year or so to pursue music.

Oh, he did fine in music, I know. He had a flair for it, even back when we were lads. It didn't surprise me at all. But, he was there when I became a doctor.
