Okay, the first hour of this was cute, but really do you know how hard it is to tell your commanding officer you were late to a drill because you had to answer an email? Thanks for the K.P. Duty. What is this anyway, some kind of joke?

Actually once upon a time we did know each other. We weren't close per se, but you were one of those I respected from the old days.

I feel I need to do some research or meditation... or something. It's like a thought in the back of your head or a word on the tip of your tongue. This sensation. Of knowing but not.

I saw the name Sekhmet and that feels right. She is Egyptian, right? A lion headed goddess.

That's right. A lot of us Egytpians had animal-heads. I had a jackal..aardvark head myself.

I remember it. Or at least I think I've seen it up at the Luxor. Don't laugh. That's where I am recalling most of what I know about Egypt right now.

I'm not, honest. Actually there's one of us who lives in Vegas. You could probably get in touch with her if you choose to.

I'm not far from Vegas. Nellis AFB is right by it actually so chances are good I will be getting into a lot of contact with anyone near there. What about you, where are you at?

I live in New York with my girl and our daughter. She's also one of us, Astarte, and our daughter is a full-blooded goddess, Meriset.

Looks like everyone is spread around, which I guess it's good for attracting less attention and all.

Ha! Oh man she's going to be annoyed at that! Actually she's Ra himself's daughter. She and her twin, Anat, were minor war goddesses. Astarte herself was more about advancing military tech, specifically chariots. DOn't worry, she won't hold it against you.

I uhm better start studying the Egyptian pantheon. Like now. I don't want to piss a relative off or anything. I Have a lot to learn it seems.

I'm just teasing. She won't be upset, but it wouldn't hurt to do some reading.
