I'm a fucking mess. She's doing okay, and is the only thing keeping me sane right now. I don't know what I'd do if they were both gone.

...but no, I'm not. You remember how sick I was when I hired you? I don't hardly sleep. I couldn't keep Thanksgiving dinner down because I was throwing up blood. ...I can't do this myself. I never could.

I installed one of those voice recognition devices so I could even check all my electronic business without leaving the water. Thanksgiving was the driest I'd been in days. And I went back in the water as soon as I got home. The tail's all but permanent lately.

So... no. Not helping that much.

Um, hey. I know things are crazy right now for both of us, but... I need you. You're my friend. My partner. My advisor. Practically a brother. We can't handle this on our own... Maybe we could together? I can't really leave New York on anything beyond a business trip. You know that. But, perhaps you could come Bring the baby, bring the dogs, you know I have the space. I wouldn't make you sell the house you're in, even, so you'd have it for a retreat if you needed it.
