Meanwhile, nothing like Halloween to bring out the weirdest part of a bunch of computer geeks. Seriously, going to work actually feels like I'm trapped in one of our own games now. Who the hell decided it was okay to allow Nerf guns in the workspace?

I have some regular customers who are trapped in "Nerf gun workplaces" year-round, not just during Halloween. How anyone could think that such behavior is productive is beyond me.

I feel as if I haven't talked to you in forever. Other than dodging Nerf bullets, how are you these days, my dear?

Are you serious? Year round? Good grief, where do these people work? I mean, yeah, pretty much all the guys here are perpetually fourteen, but... that's just ridiculous. Fun, at first, but I'm betting it gets old really quickly.

Me, I'm all right. Just trying to get everything back to normal. It seems to be working for the most part. It's still awful what happened at the college, though.

Quite appropriately, they work for a software company! What is it exactly about geeks and Nerf guns? I'm hoping the one guy can find work elsewhere. He seems much too serious about doing a good job to work in a place that encourages such tomfoolery.

I hope things are getting better there. It was not a pleasant experience, and I didn't experience the worst of it, by any means. If you see any of the others, please give them my best!

As for me, I'm doing well. I'm still trying everything I can to find leads on the Grail, but it's getting frustrating. I don't want to give up, though, because I think if we can find the Grail, we might very well be able to put an end to some of this madness. At least I hope so.

I guess we're caught in perpetual nostalgia. Computer geeks never really grow up in some ways.

I haven't seen a lot of the others out here, from either of our pantheons. Nina was helping Dr. Oram take care of Amanda for a while there, so she didn't have a lot of spare time between that and her store.

So... Okay. Maybe this is just coming through the Greek filter here, but... Exactly what is it you're hoping locating the Grail will accomplish. I understand it as being the Ultimate Quest Item and all, but accounts of its powers tend to vary, depending on whose account you're reading.

I honestly don't know if the Grail's going to help us, Denise. You must realize that I've spent a very long time looking for it ... so long that I feel incomplete if I'm not on the quest. My main thought, and I suspect both Adam and Nina would agree, is that having the Grail in our possession would constitute a powerful trump card. We could use it as leverage with some of the other less scrupulous godlings.

I'm still working on a plan. I haven't found any leads on that manuscript I mentioned when I was in Washington last time. I'm talking (surreptitiously) to all my best book dealer colleagues to see if they might know anything. I still suspect the manuscript is in a private collection somewhere.
