Some sense of politeness? She said your mother was already indisposed and told me to ask you. Why she couldn't ask you herself, I'll never understand. Apparently the generation gap automatically makes me her personal liaison to anyone under the age of 40.

Mother has been cooperating with the Board to run things while I was gone. She's taking a vacation from people.
