Hello, everyone in cyberspace! I finally got fed up with deleting these emails from my account and here I am, complete with new anti-virus software just in case this isn't kosher. I hope it's legitimate, though. Such insistent emails just simply have to mean something important and big is going on.

So what is it? A party? A pyramid scheme? Human trafficking? Coupons? Cyber-orgy? ;)

I suppose I should do the customary Getting To Know You thing, too. My name is Misha, I'm an actress in NYC, I'm a Taurus, and I like hot fudge sundaes, rose gardens, and romantic comedies.

Hi, Denise! I'm glad to know it's not human trafficking but maybe a little disappointed that it's not coupons or a cyber-orgy. ;)

And yes to all of those things and then some. Of course I'm different. We all are. Like the joke goes, my Mommy told me I'm special. I just happen to believe her.

I'm a programmer at a computer game company. I especially like working on puzzle games. The name doesn't mean much now, but I used to be known as Ariadne.

No, I remember the name and the myth a bit. I used to love reading the Greek myths when I was a kid. I always thought the name Ariadne was the prettiest sounding one. I also named Aphrodite as my favorite goddess but I figure I already fangirl Ms Lovelace enough. No need to get creepy.

I bet working at the game company is really challenging. There aren't many women in that field, are there?

Did you know at one point they referred to me as "Ariadne Aphrodite"? True facts. Theoi.com will back it up.

And there are more women than you might think, but it is still mostly a boys' club. And I do mean boys. Most of them will never grow up, I swear.

Oh, I would believe that. It's the same with stage crew. They still think duct tape can fix everything - including a girl's heart - and that dressing up means putting on the least stained dockers.

Sometimes I hear they do but I have yet to see it. But they're terribly amusing and useful for some things so it looks like personally I'm stuck with guys.

Though some start out much nicer than others.

Only casually, really. I don't own a system of my own but I have friends who do and they sometimes host gaming parties. I'm not very good at them but they can be a lot of fun. I guess you would have to be, though. If for no other reason than research!
