Well, that's good to know. We do get some strange happenings from time to time. Last week, we all got anonymous flowers, for instance. But, except for a handful of disappearances, it hasn't seemed especially harmful for the most part.

So, where are you from, Max? What do you do?

Ohio, huh? I'm from Olympia, Washington, personally. I just finished my freshman year at U-Dub up in Seattle. I'm a Classics student up there. What do you study?

Ohio blows. But I'm currently undecided at OSU. Kind of leaning towards art a little bit? Or political science. Perhaps major in one, minor in the other. It feels like there are too many options, sometimes.

Give it some time. One of my sisters here is still getting used to it herself.

If you don't like it there, have you considered doing a study abroad? Or transferring or taking a gap year or something? I know, there are a lot of options. Art is a wonderful pursuit. And political science could be useful. One of the women here works in Washington--maybe she could help you find a job if you wanted to pursue it? I was drawn to the Classics, mostly because I wanted to rediscover the handiwork of my sisters and me. The way it was originally, before they were translated.

I took a year off already. Had to. I had a...rather distressing episode. So this was technically our- my first year at college, anyways. I don't think I'd do very well abroad. But it's a nice thought.

And... yes. They aren't as strong in my mortal form. At least, they aren't usually, depending on the circumstances, but I do still have some of my powers. I can't control them, though.

It's usually not so bad when it's just me by myself. The real issues crop up when my powers synergize with someone else's. Dionysus, Lilith, Aphrodite... I suppose even being around Eros would catalyze something.

...it's hard to describe. Back in the day, they called it "charming the sight." I can't create love or lust. Not exactly, anyway--that's something for Aphrodite or the Erotes to handle. But... I bring people together, I guess you could say, and make them more likely to be receptive to what romantic feelings they have.

...it hasn't always turned out well. I've narrowly escaped being attacked on a few occasions... And that horrible incident at the dormitory back in September. I don't actually have any memory of it, but I saw part of the aftermath, and the stories I was told... A lot of people died that night...
