Children, sweetie. Alex is an instant grandbaby. And, who knows? I could be like Mel and be carrying twins. Plus... do we really want to stop after just once?

I know. So, when do we want to do the Ohio visit? My schedule's pretty open right now, though I'll have to ask Asclepius about setting up my prenatal visits...

Hmm. Now that I think about it... As long as I'm out here, I have access to the one physician on the planet who knows anything about birth and health of immortal children.

Would you be able to meet me in Ohio in, say... A week? There's no time like the present to introduce the most important woman in the world to the folks. Who already know all about you, I'm sure, since Leah was half in love with you herself and probably told them glowing stories.

I don't think it'll be a problem. Though I'm not sure how much Leah would want to share me now that I'm carrying your baby. [she grins to show she's kidding]

It's cute you assume the baby will be straight. But, no matter what, we will love our little one and support their choices.

I wonder if I might be able to gank some of the twins' hand-me-downs... They grow so quickly, after all.

Good point. Our kid can be whatever he or she wants and date whoever he or she wants... As long as they treat them well. Or else.

You probably could. I'm sure Mel would be okay with it. Though... You know my mom and sisters are going to want to throw a big baby shower, right? You'll be swamped in stuff.

Oh, gosh... And they probably don't realize the baby's only going to be a baby for a few days at most... Bes... They're going to notice when our child is already walking and talking by Easter. We... might have to tell them the truth about ourselves here too.

... You're right. They don't know about me yet. I mean, I've kept it under the radar pretty much but there's no way we can hide a kid that grows six years in six months. They'll... Be okay. They'll have to be. And they'll love you and Alex and whoever else comes along.

My parents are aware of what I am. It was kind of hard for them to not notice a goddess at the breakfast table the first day we got our full powers. It was a tough shock for them, I know, and then it was compounded when I told them Alex was coming.

I guess they'll either accept it or they won't. But they'll figure it out sooner or later.

They will. [He smiles gently.] It helps that I know I'm the favorite brother when it comes to my sisters and Leah is already your aspiring gal pal.

So... Would you be ready for a visit in, uh, maybe two weeks?

Yeah, I don't think that'd be any trouble. How about you? Are you ready for this? Excited? ...happy?

Sweetheart... I don't think any guy is totally ready to be a dad but I'll do my best and, yes, I'm excited. I'm over the moon. The woman I love is pregnant with my kid and is okay with me being the stand-in dad for her other son who I love just as much. It's a lot to, you know, absorb but, well, how could I ever be happy without you?

You are going to make a wonderful dad, and we're going to have a beautiful family. I just know Laurel and Julian will be thrilled to discover a new cousin on the way. One that won't be as fragile as Alex, Emily and Haley.

Laurel will love anyone new that she can hug. That girl has so much love in her that it's amazing... But you're right. The kids will be over the moon. Almost as much as me.
