[The first thing visible is Tanner's smile, as he's a little too close to the camera, still trying to adjust it as it blinks on. He bites his lip for a moment, looking for the little light indicating that it is indeed on, and once he finds it, he gently settles himself back into his computer chair.]

Hi. [He smiles, shyly. His face overtaken with a hint of pink.] I'm Tanner. You might know me as...[He stops, and worries his lip between his teeth a little, looking decently self conscious by now.] Ganymede.

I've looked through the other posts here and some of them are really-[He stops again, and just shakes his head.] Um. But...I think I kind of get the gist of this place? I'm not sure. [He shrugs.] But I figured I'd make a video post, because I...don't think I'd know how to introduce myself just typing. [There's a bit of a giggle.] It doesn't...carry tone well, you know? And I wanted to be friendly.

So, hi! [He waves, and smiles brightly at the camera, before winking, and cutting the feed.]

Well-behaved is always good. I think I would have liked to have known you back then.

Your history sounds a lot more interesting than mine. I was just...um. Taken. I was a...cupbearer. And some other things! But, nothing so interesting as that, for sure. I might have brushed with Hercules once...He actually married the girl I ended up replacing, or something like that.

Ah, anyways. You seem really helpful. :D Seems like a lot to do, but if you enjoy it, it's totally worth it. I've always had a soft spot for teachers, too. ♥

We did have some contact with the Greeks back in the day, but you don't seem like the sort to go on an adventure like that.

It may have been interesting, but probably in a bit of a Chinese-curse sense. I mean, my own half-brother enslaved our races and starved us, if that tells you anything.

And, hey, that's me. I'm a helper. I like to keep busy. There's always room to learn and improve. I think a day is wasted if I haven't learned at least five new things before bed. It's good that you respect your teachers. Especially if you want to go far academically.

Not really. I wasn't really allowed to- wasn't much for adventures. I had a...job. You know?

That sounds pretty terrible. Then again, my people pretty much destroyed each other over a little jealousy. That wasn't entirely pleasant, either.

I've always had really good teachers. I appreciate people who are patient and knowledgeable enough to teach others. I kind of, respect that, you know? And I've been told I'm a decent student. I do like to learn, and really, it helps keep my mind occupied while I do other, less interesting things. :|

It was a rough time in history, and both Ireland and Greece are really rather difficult climates in which to live. It's no wonder, if you think about it.

Hey, there's nothing a teacher enjoys more than an eager student. Someone we know will actually absorb the knowledge and put it to use.

Thankfully, we're living in a more civilized era. At least, somewhat. Certain things never seem to change in terms of being popular public sport.

It's hard to define civilized without a little uncivilized behavior. I don't know. I've always been pretty...sheltered, I suppose. Even back then. My...well, he kept me close.

My teachers do seem to like me. Some more than others. Some a lot more than others. And that's always weird. :|

I'm glad your teachers like you, and I can assure you that every teacher wishes he or she could make a personal connection to every single student, but it shouldn't be that personal. In a lot of places, it's not even legal to do so. Virtually anywhere else, at least in the United States, at the very least it can cost a teacher his or her job to have a relationship like that with a student. Believe me, I get mistrustful looks sometimes just because my girl Lilith is fifteen years my junior--and she was never a student of mine.

I'll admit, some of them were more of the...grabby kind of like. But it's not like I dated any of them or anything. It's not something that I was too happy about, but apparently I was sending all of these signals and...whatever. I'm pretty sure a few guys got fired?

...Anyways. That's kind of weird for a first conversation.
