Okay, so I want to know who this is and what you want with me. Obviously, you’re some tech-heavy underground group, because I have never seen coding like this before. And I’ve played inside some very intricate software.

So just to be clear, unless you plan on offering me a lot of money, I’m not interested in being recruited to whatever this is. I pick my own career. So if that ruins your plans, then too bad. Stop hounding me.

Thankfully not everyone, but many, yes. If they simply wanted their godhood back it wouldn't be so bad, but many wish to resume the old relationship of humanity worshiping us..and don't seem to realize how bad an idea that would be. Sadly being human has not deflated enough egos.

Well, that really depends on you. Our family..is somewhat divided right now. No outright conflicts thankfully, though there are those preparing to do so.

That's not something I can say with complete impartiality considering I'm at odds with said people. People..who were important to who you were. I want you to be able to see this as impartially as possible.

Taking a leap of logic, would one of those people be that guy who jumped down my throat in two seconds flat? The one that said he needs me "in top form".

"sigh" Triton, yes. He's not a bad man, but he's so blindly loyal to his father..I'm sorry, I said I would try to be impartial. As a god, he acted as your foster father.

I read the classics when I was young. I liked the name, so I started using it as my internet handle.

I see. How familiar with them are you? I'm not saying they're completely true, believe me they embellish greatly, but knowing them certainly won't hurt your understanding.

I see. We are currently without Zeus, so there's something of a..void at the top of our family. The leading candidates are myself and Poseidon. Normally I would not care to rule at all, but I trust you've read of Poseidon's past endeavors. He has not mellowed much.

There is currently an alternate scheme in place, but we haven't made much headway yet.

There are essentially two plans currently in the works among a select few of us. For the leadership problem I have considered arranging for Aphrodite to assume leadership. She has her moments of vanity, but far more benevolent than Poseidon.

The other operation is a small inter-pantheon alliance I am trying to form so we can all find some way to make certain that things turn out well for everyone, particularly humanity.

So the option of leaving well enough alone isn't popular enough to get on the list. Then my suggestion would be to go with the alliance. If this is a race, there's no certainty that your team will win.

Leaving things alone would have been my preference, but I can't trust those who continue to seek the prize out to do the same. Plus the motives of those who brought us together are suspect.

Not much is known. So far we've seen signs of Gaea, the being believed to be the primal earth goddess, as well as images of a darker being.

Would I throw you off if I started discussing temporal physics?

There's a place that we've been brought to. A kind of pocket dimension that exists outside time. There's a being there that calls itself Nigel, and claims to serve the powers behind events. He's refused to elaborate beyond what he's told to tell us. We've been forced to do.. embarrassing things in order to progress.

Why not refuse until you're given answers? If everyone stood by it, eventually this "Nigel" would have to cave. I mean whoever is trying to prod you all along wants you to keep going, so a conditional mutany could get results.

I think once you start to get to know those involved here, you'll see why such a cooperative venture would be difficult in the extreme. Besides, time does not exist in that place. He could simply leave and patiently wait until we broke down and did as told just so we could leave.
