Here's the thing. There are quite a few people out there who do not welcome our very existence. I do my best to lead by example since I have the resources to back myself up. But, all of us here, we are less than four dozen with two armies. The opposition has quite a bit more, if they should wish to use it. We're not invulnerable. Not yet. And that's just dealing with the human threats. It doesn't even touch the other things out there.

Lots more, yes. It's been relatively quiet around here for a while, but we've been attacked, both by anti-godling factions and monsters guarding our epicenters. Once in a while, the Powers will decide to grace us with their presences. I can't say I've a fondness for either one of them. But, better it quiet than attacks or their fetch quests or being kidnapped to pocket dimensions. For once, I'd like to spend a nice holiday season at home.

Either way, being prepared is of the utmost value, not just to the individual pantheons, but our collective as a whole. For a while, I was in charge of developing our armed forces. Nominally, I suppose I still am, but I've had to delegate much of those duties in between building an empire and attending law school.

I'm all for keeping the masses in their rightful places. What would you ask of me, and how would I be reciprocated?

Yes, well, most of our kind try to be as welcoming as possible, and trying to gauge the starting points of the new arrivals. I have a reputation for not affording that luxury to newcomers. Like it or not, we're on the brink of all-out war, in which were are certainly outnumbered and highly likely outgunned. There isn't time to waste if we can help it. Fortunately, you seem more capable than most.

Before I can suggest anything in terms of an assignment, I'd like to have a sense of what I'm working with, to see what gaps still need to be covered or with whom you might do well working in tandem. You're obviously a man of means, so I doubt monetary compensation is of much interest to you. Mostly, it's a matter of we protect each other. Someone's in need of help, we step in. We shield our weakest until they grow strong, and work to keep our strongest at their fittest. There is also the exchange of knowledge and tactics. We are not unreasonable, and certain members have unique pools of talent and resources. I'm sure suitable arrangements could be made.

My home base is in Dallas, Texas, but I have branches of operation throughout the country. It would be simple enough to fly to New York.
