My father serves in the United States Marine Corps. As for myself... I'm leader of my own sovereign territory, and therefore commander in chief of my forces.

I've had a lot of people all jumped up, as you put it. That's what happens when you're revealed in a very public way, and then begin working with heads of state, military leaders and corporate interests to create and manage agreements regarding a territory that covers 70% of the globe.

I haven't paid much attention to the news. Head in the sand or whatever so some of this is new to me. If I sound a bit naive, there is a reason for it, just not a great one.

Yes, well, I'm the very public face of our kind. I also am rapidly building one of the largest treasuries in the world. The more people that focus on me, the safer the rest of us are.

Makes me almost want to go AWOL before they find out about me. I have a feeling I am going to be keeping things pretty close to the chest until my tour is over.

But doesn't that make you a target? I'm sure people would want to bring you down, just because they feel you'd be a threat or cause destabilization.

You're not our first to be enrolled in the armed services.

It does make me a target. Frankly, that's the idea, at least in part. And I'd be lying if I said that I haven't already been attacked by anti-godling fanatics. Several of us have. But, I also have the resources I can mount not only a defense, but an offense as well. If someone's going to attack, better it's the king with an army at his back than one of our more vulnerable members.

So I heard. There was an Achilles and an Ares in the services before me as far as I know.

Achilles has been MIA since at least March. And Ares is retired, as I understand it. Tyr is former military as well, I believe, and Baldr was in the Peace Corps.

Trust me, I do. I have some who are very close to me.

Shame no one else is currently in the military. But I'm sure I could get pointers from Ares and Tyr about how they handled being a god and in the military.
